THE BIG ONE
The peak coverage moment of the whole campaign

The Long Road Back is not a one-day story. It is 18 months of training, preparation, fundraising and storytelling — followed by 12 consecutive days on foot from Dorset to Paris. The audience builds from day one and reaches its peak on THE BIG ONE.

The three charities — Fortuneswell Cancer Ward, Prince of Wales Renal Ward and MIND — each bring their own supporters, donors and communities. Combined, the reach of this campaign extends significantly beyond the runners' personal networks.

THE BIG ONE is the day the story reaches its highest point of drama. The longest distance. The most challenging terrain. The point at which anyone following the campaign is most engaged. That is the moment your brand appears.

Early sponsors — those who commit before the campaign goes public — receive the maximum benefit: 18 months of association with the run, from launch through to the finish line at the Arc de Triomphe.

Who the
money reaches.

Andy's charity
Fortuneswell Cancer Ward
The ward that treated Andy Potter. Every pound raised goes directly to the team and facilities that made a difference when it mattered most.
James's charity
Prince of Wales Renal Ward
The ward that kept James Sayers alive. A direct, personal debt — run as a debt of gratitude, one mile at a time.
Both runners
MIND
Because everyone who has ever needed someone to talk to and couldn't find the words deserves a run like this too. Mental health is the third thread of this campaign.

to be part
of this.

Sponsorship is available now — 18 months before the run begins. Early sponsors receive the full benefit of the campaign build-up, not just the run itself.

To secure the exclusive THE BIG ONE sponsorship at £2,500, or to discuss a bespoke lead sponsor package across the full campaign, get in touch directly with James Sayers.

Packages are filling. THE BIG ONE will have one named day sponsor.

All funds raised go directly to the three charities. Sponsorship fees contribute to campaign costs and logistics. Full transparency available on request.

The Long Road Back is a charity challenge run from Bridport, Dorset to the Arc de Triomphe, Paris, in April 2028. Sponsorship enquiries and packages are informal at this stage and will be formalised on agreement. All distances marked as approximate are based on planned routes and may vary on the day. James Sayers and Andy Potter are completing this run in a personal capacity for the benefit of Fortuneswell Cancer Ward, Prince of Wales Renal Ward and MIND.
